Totally missing from the Stranger’s timeline is, of course, the “defund” debacle (2020-2023), which the Stranger had pushed as hard as it possibly could. Defund divided the Seattle electorate into a tiny minority of abolitionist activists, and a large majority of liberal police-reform advocates. This nicely derailed the city’s impetus for police reform post-Floyd, as the Council followed the Stranger and the activists off a cliff.

If the Stranger wants to assign blame for the ten years which will pass in Seattle without any hope of police reform, it can start by looking in the mirror.

@3: Well, as "defund" was a horribly bad idea, of course Sawant loudly supported it. But that's less relevant now than the Stranger's loud support of it, now consigned to the Memory Hole. Her running for Congress in Seattle doesn't really change any of that.
